Fire erupted in a specialized bicycle wheel manufacturing company Tuesday afternoon.
Production halted last week after an electrical surge blew out a series of power transformers.
That surge may have originated with Hurricane Ike's impact along the coast.
Tuesday was the first day production began after being shut down.
"The only person on site was my production manager. And he called me literally looking at the fire in the building," David Nayer of Nimble, LLC said.
"And my first instructions were, actually my first question was 'Did you call 911?' The second question was 'Can you see your way out of there and get out of there?' And he said, "Well, I think I can help." And I said, Get out.'"
The company uses several petroleum-based products in its manufacturing process.
There were no reports of injuries but Nayer believes the building is a total loss.
