A luxury hotel is scheduled to replace the Bitter End in downtown Austin.
The bistro's manager, Travis Gaters, said he has known about the plans for the hotel, but just found out last week that it would affect the Bitter End.
The bistro has been closed since catching fire in August.
The hotel also will replace the parking lot at the corner of 3rd and Colorado.
Gaters said he was told the Bitter End's building itself would stay and be incorporated into the hotel. The bistro's accompanying lounge, B-side, will stay open.
More details will be discussed during a staff meeting scheduled for Monday.
