A coyote management program in Northwest Austin has trapped and killed 11 of the animals since October.
State law mandates that moving the coyotes out of the area is not an option.
City Councilman Brewster McCracken called a meeting Tuesday night to let people in the area know about the program's success.
A biologist with the Texas Wildlife Services used snares and footholds to trap the coyotes.
He received his information from 311 calls from residents. Part of the program involves public education.

"The citizens and the people living out in these neighborhoods that are near these habitats are really the people we're going to depend on to help solve this problem through getting the word out and doing some things differently with how we manage our pets, our pet food, trash. All those things are really going to have to change," Dorinda Pulliam of the Town Lake Animal Center said.
If you've seen coyotes in your area, call 311 to report them.
