Moving from base to base won't be such a hassle for military spouses anymore.
Congress has sent President Barack Obama a bill allowing the spouses of service members to keep their original residency even if they relocate with their husbands or wives.
Congressman John Carter, who represents Fort Hood, said he expects the president to sign the bill into law within the next few days.
In some cases, the new law would mean couples won't have to file separate tax returns.
It could also eliminate the need to update driver's licenses or voter registrations.
