It's getting hotter and hotter, and finding ways to keep cool are becoming more appealing.
If you have a couple bucks and don't mind getting wet, public
pools are opening up for all to enjoy.
Round Rock city pools opened June 4.
The lifeguards are on duty, a few last minute fixes to pools were made and gates opened without a hitch Thursday.
Now that school's out, pools are a place many students have been waiting to dip into.
"I wanted to go swimming in the winter but they weren't open, so I've been waiting a long time," pool-goer Cory Pekkala said.
But, getting ready for the summer swim season took a lot of pool
preparation work and lifeguard training.
"We're actually storing up, just in case we need them later on," Erica Molacek, the aquatics supervisor for the city, said about extra lifeguards.
Round Rock added about 50 extra guards this summer. All are CPR certified and ready to make it a safe swim season.

"You keep alert. It's your job," lifeguard Luke Bernhard said.
It's a job many said they are happy to have this summer, even if it means being strict to keep kids safe.
"They don't like to listen. Being a lifeguard on stand -- it's really stressful," Bernhard said.
Molacek offered this advice for all summer swimmers: "Be smart and safe. Know where you are in your swimming limitations."
If you want to learn to swim, the city still has slots open for lessons.
