For three years, it's been a showcase for Austin musicians.
Music & Entertainment Television (METV) Vice President Kevin Connor said the lineup has been diverse.
"Everybody from Willie Nelson to the Octopus Project," he said.
But, METV has seen better days. Late last month, the 3-year-old station laid off almost its entire staff.
"They're great people," Connor said. "They've done very talented things and we want them back.
Tuesday, Connor told the Austin Music Commission he has every intention of keeping the station on air.
"We plan to keep going. It's kind of a rough spot right now but
I think we can get through it," he said.
Commission member and Austin musician Sara Hickman said it's just a minor setback.
"For me, it's not the ending," she said. "It might be a bump in the road."
Hickman is confident it'll be but a small bump in the road for the station.
"This is just a rough patch for METV and if anyone can pull it
through, I think Kevin can. I think he can get it going again and to
just hang in there," Hickman said.
"Our job is to keep good music on the TV and we are doing that," Connor said.
They're doing that now, but how much longer they will be able to continue depends on whether there's enough support and cash to keep METV on the air.
