Residents living in a small portion of West Austin are advised to boil their water.
The advisory is directed at residents living in the Woods at Westlake Heights Neighborhood and the Barclay Woods Neighborhood just southwest of Loop 360 – Capital of Texas Highway and north of MoPac Expressway.
There was a loss of water pressure in the area this morning.
Because of this, it's possible for bacteria to get into the water system.
Austin Water said residents should not use water for drinking, cooking or ice-making until it's been tested and meets state and city standards.
The water should be boiled for at least two minutes.
Austin Water will notify residents when the boil water notice is over.
For more information, residents can call the Austin Water Utility Dispatch Office at (512) 972-1000.
