A water main break, that created a flood in the middle of downtown Austin, has now been repaired.
The City of Austin said a ten-foot section of a Lavaca Street water main split down the middle, forcing crews to shut down two lanes of traffic, causing long delays Thursday.
The Chase Tower lost its water supply for about 10 hours, and employees there had to use portable bathrooms or walk across the street.
Cleanup crews said the main broke around 4 a.m. at the intersection of Lavaca and Fifth Streets.

The main break caused northbound South First Street traffic to stall for miles as well as eastbound traffic on Cesar Chavez Street.
City of Austin spokesperson Kevin Buchman said the cause of the break is unknown, but many of the cast-iron pipes are aging, especially in the downtown area.
"We do rehab and replace our lines as often as possible," he said. "And when they break, we make the repairs."
