Many voters may have waited until the last minute but if Monday night were any indication as to what may come, expect there to be a large turnout of young voters.
"We've been watching what's been happening and not particularly liking the results of that, so we're trying to come out and make a difference," Sarah Lisle a young registrant said.
A steady stream of people showed up at the tax office Monday, and though older voters showed up, it was the young voters who had a strong presence.
Dolores Lopez, the Voter Registration Director said young voters want their vote to count.
"I think they want to participate in the first presidential election and they want to make sure their vote makes a difference," she said.
About 800 registration cards were from University of Texas students alone at the tax office Monday night.

Avi Selk, a UT student, said the large UT student turnout has something to do with the primaries and the energy that is associated with it.
"A lot of them were shocked to hear that it was so easy to register," Justin Hubbard, a UT student said.
Their choices for president may not come as easy as registering to vote, but younger voters are making their presence felt.
