According to the Environmental Protection Agency, as much as 5 percent of the harmful emissions entering the atmosphere come from lawn mowers.
However, lawn mowers fueled by propane reduce emissions and provide a greener way to mow.
Ivan Giraldo with Clean Scapes Landscaping has made the commitment to make all of his company's lawn mowers fueled by propane.
"It's been great. Looking forward to helping the environment and doing the right thing," Giraldo said.
Fuel and maintenance costs are also much lower with this greener way of mowing.
"We save a lot of money on gasoline and spillage," Giraldo said
The propane fueled lawn mowers can also be used on ozone action days.

"Some contracts stipulate that you cannot mow on those days, so you have to revamp your schedules for your crews. This allows you to mow because of the much lower emissions," Stacy Neef with Central Texas Clean Cities said.
For Clean Scapes, the switch to propane has also made customers happy.
"They really like it and appreciate the investment we've made in the environment," Giraldo said.
