Mason didn't need much advice, he was perfectly at ease with a club and ball. He said he doesn't expect to have career as a professional golfer, though he wouldn't rule out a career in sports.
The 9-year-old has no hesitations about telling you who he is and what he likes to do.
"I'm a guy who is just active and I like sports and pretty much anything that's athletic," he said.
But Mason has a serious side too. He said he's had a tough time living without a family and he wants someone to sign his papers because they want to keep him.
"It's whoever loves you and wants to really take you and they want to care for you," he said.

As par the course, Mason's had some tough times, and has had to move a lot.
"I get kind of sad and mad," he said.
It was in those moments that he realized his vision for a forever family was actually pretty simple.
"I wanted to be adopted by a family that takes me to church, cares if I go to school or not," he said.
He said he wants someone to keep track of his wins and losses and someone who will stick around. He said he has heard success stories where that does happen and those around him keep telling him that his family will come for him.
"I just hope they do, I just hope it's true," he said.
And nothing could be truer than this, Mason really wants to belong to a forever family.
