There's nothing more comfortable than a summer dress. Fortunately, you can wear dresses all season.

"In Austin you can wear summer clothes year round," Austin designer Meiling Chang said. "The color they can mesh together with a small cardigan, small lightweight jacket, one that's cool, or a scarf to cover."

Just add a cardigan or a scarf to any summer dress and you have a new wardrobe. That's the Austin designer and Taiwan native's advice. Chang knows a lot about dressing for the hot fall months.

"I try to use material that is easy to take care, cotton linen, eco-friendly dye," Chang said. "I try to use material that doesn't require dry clean, the design; I try easy to wear style."

Chang was born in Taiwan and started in custom design. Five years ago, she started her own line, Meline, which can be found at Parts and Labour on South Congress. Her easy-to-wear, fashionable designs are a mix of her homeland and her move to Austin.

"I study a lot of fashion from western," she said. "I traveled to Paris, Spain, Barcelona. I got so much inspiration. Also, because Chinese culture is so old, 500 years. I tried to combine Eastern and Western culture into my fashion."

So don't be afraid to wear those dresses into the fall.
