It's Election Day and voters around Texas are out making sure their voice is heard.
Although the ballot affects all Texans, some items are closer to home.
Two spots on the San Marcos will be filled Tuesday.
Place six incumbent John Thomaides is facing two challengers, business owner Monica Garcia, as well as retired civil servant Anita Fuller.

There will also be at least one new face on the city council.
The candidates for place five are Shaune Maycock, Ryan Thomason, or Lisa Marie Coppoletta.
Polling workers said all citizens have a right and a duty to vote.
"They need to consider the issues and just think very clearly on that. Just do a little bit of research," San Marcos City Clerk, Sherry Mashburn, said.
