From Broadway, to the big screen, to Austin, performer Lea Salonga will come to the Paramount Theatre this weekend.

Little kids might know her as the singing voice of Disney characters Jasmine in "Aladdin" and "Mulan."

Adults might recognize her from her role in "Miss Saigon".

Her arrival marks Salonga's first visit to Austin. She said she's anxious to get here for some not-so-obvious reasons.

"I have a lot of family in Austin, Texas, so I'm really looking forward to going and performing, because I have so much family. And, I don't think a lot of them have been able to see me perform," Salonga said.

Salonga calls her opportunity to sing in Austin "a little reunion" of sorts and a chance to meet cousins and relatives she hasn't met before.
