News 8 launched its first HD channel on August 5, 2008. Fittingly, it's a high-definition version of our 24-hour weather channel, Non-Stop Weather (NSW HD).
It’s on digital channel 1507 in the Austin area. In Waco, Killeen and Temple NSW HD is on channel 1010. You can still find the same programming in standard-definition on channel 358 in the Austin area.
To receive the channel in HD, viewers will need an HDTV display (TV or monitor) and a Time Warner Cable HD set top box.
Non-Stop Weather HD, along with more than 30 other high-definition channels, is free with digital cable. If you already have an HD-capable TV set, you can swap out your standard-definition cable box for an HD cable box at no additional cost.
